Gorkhaland protest: One Nepali arrested for enticing violence in Siliguri

West Bengal Police on Tuesday arrested two persons, including a Nepali, on the charge of enticing violence in Gorkhaland protest.
Siliguri police arrested 37-year-old Udayhang Fago, a resident of Ilam, Nepal and Nitin Chhetri, 35, of Sukuna, Siliguri in India.
Both the arrestees have been charged for their involvement in gun fire incident that took place after a weapon rally in Sukuna last week.
The accused have been levied charges under article 147, 148 and 149 of Indian penal code. They have been also accused of attacking on policemen and creating obstruction on government services by wielding weapons.
Gorkha Janamukti Morcha Chairman Bimal Gurung said that the Bengal government is inclined on establishing the Nepali involvement in the Gorkhaland protest by arresting innocent people.
He warned that the Gorkhaland protest would be intensified from Wednesday as the ultimatum given to the government has ended.
