CAN Commtech 2017 kicks off

The second edition of Subisu CAN Commtech kicked off on Thursday at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu. The event was inaugurated by Minster for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet.

CAN Commtech 2017 is organised by Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN) which is a platform for business, promotion, exhibition and knowledge. The expo will continue till Sunday.
CAN CommTech is an information, communication and technology exhibition which showcases domestic and international mobile solutions, computer hardware, security solutions, ISPs, telecom, broadband & cable TV service provider, product launches, wireless solutions, banking solutions, IT enabled services solutions, access control and security solutions.
“The public should have knowledge related to information and communication” said Hemant Chaurasia, first vice president of CAN. The event is expecting to attract professionals, business persons, government officials, students and other interested people. The organisers expect around 200,000 to visit the four-day expo.
“The younger generation are becoming more interested in information, communication and technology so these kinds of exhibitions are really important,” said Minster for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet.
CAN Commtech will be focusing on broadband internet and communication technology with high speed internet bringing the two together.
There is also a separate pavilion for security solutions companies where they can display products such as electric security, safety and solution. Other products such as CCTV, access, access control system, sensor and alarm, staff attendance, fire and smoke detector, fire fighter will also be available at the exhibition. 
There are a total of 87 stalls for visitors to browse through. Internet service providers, telecommunications, electric security, safety and solution, hardware sales and solution, power solution, mobile accessories, dealers and distributors, ICT colleges and trainings institutes, payment solutions and have set up stalls at CAN CommTech 2017.
CAN says that the expo is an opportunity for both domestic and international companies to share ideas, demonstrate products and services. The title sponsor of CAN CommTech 2017 is Subisu Pvt Ltd, diamond sponsor—Nepal Telecom and  the silver sponsor is S-Power.
