Update: Kavre jeep accident death toll reaches 7

Sep 26, 2017-At least seven persons died and a child sustained critical injuries when a Bolero Jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Shikharambote in Roshi Rural Municipality-3 of Kavrepalanchok on Tuesday

According to the District Police Office, Kavre, the ill-fated four-wheeler (Ba 14 Cha 9556) was heading towards Dandapari from Banepa when the incident occurred this morning.

The deceased have been identified as Khelimaya Bal, 35, Putalimaya Bal, 20, Lehandimaya Jimba, 22, Manita Moktan, 27, Cristina Moktan, 8, and Kumari Jimba, 19. All the deceased are from Mahabharat-2. The identify of one person, said to be the driver of the jeep, has not been known yet.

Police said that the seriously injured Abhishek Tamang, 8, has been flown  to Kathmandu for treatment.

The cause behind the accident is yet to be ascertained.
